EMnify, a Berlin-based IoT and M2M connectivity management platform provider, has raised €8 million (£7m) in a series A funding round, as the company looks to expand its sales and marketing activities.

The recently accumulated funds will help EMnify support its international sales and marketing expansion activities as part of the company’s global rollout of its cloud native cellular connectivity integration with Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Compute Engine, among others. Frank Stöcker, CEO and Co-Founder of EMnify, said: “EMnify is experiencing very strong growth and with the fresh capital we want to accelerate this trend by taking the necessary investments to further expand our sales and marketing activities to execute our go-to-market strategy.”

Recently, EMnify achieved Amazon Web Services (AWS) IoT Competency status. This differentiates the German IoT cloud tech platform provider as an AWS Partner Network (APN) member that has demonstrated relevant technical proficiency and proven customer success delivering solutions seamlessly in the AWS Cloud environment. In order to achieve the designation, APN Partners must possess deep AWS expertise and undergo an assessment of the security, performance, and reliability of their solutions.

Last month, cybersecurity solutions provider Crypto Quantique also raised $8m (£6.32m) in its seed funding round led by ADV along with participation from Entrepreneur First, amongst others. The company’s disruptive cybersecurity technology uses the most advanced techniques in cryptography and quantum physics to address the growing challenges of end-to-end IoT security.

The latest round brings EMnify’s total accumulated funding to more than £17m since 2015.
